On Saturday October 22 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, the Strathmore and District Curling Club held a learn-to-curl clinic. Â There were 23 curlers ranging from new (have never even stepped on the ice before!) to more experienced (just wanted some practice and to brush up on their skills). Â Thanks to the instructors who volunteered their time to help out – Kevin and Jana Robertson, Cindy Shackleton, Jeff (Toad) Warne, Scott Garnett, Brennen Fule, and Michelle Ledene.
We look forward to seeing many new faces at the club this season.
Thanks to all who attended the Sponsorship Appreciation Evening on Friday October 14th. Â We had amazing appetizers provided by Chris and Bev Slater, samples from Fieldstone wines, and the curling club was all decked out looking very upscale thanks to Joyce Koch. Â Several Town of Strathmore representatives were in attendance as well as many of our sponsors. Â Without our sponsors, we could not afford to keep our fees low and to provide programs for youth, schools, and our seniors. Â We look forward to seeing you again next year at the third annual Sponsorship Appreciation Evening.
Curling starts the week of Oct. 17th. YAHOO!!!
